Summer Housing

The UAMS Residence Hall consists of two four-story residence halls with a total of 177 units.   The facility is conveniently located on campus at 4601 West Markham Street.  Campus housing is available to students, residents, faculty, staff, patient families, and other UAMS affiliates.

Qualifying Summer Programs:  Summer housing is available, on a limited basis, to UAMS colleges and departments.  Summer housing applications must be submitted through a designated college/department program coordinator.  

Application Process:  A separate housing application is required for each student, along with all applicable fees and deposits.  If a department agrees to pay fees and/or rent, IDT account number must be included on summer housing application.  (More information regarding procedures and pricing for summer programs can be found on the summer housing application.)  Applications are processed when all required information and fees are received.  Incomplete applications will not be processed.

Summer Program Dates:  Summer applications are accepted each spring, beginning March 1.  Summer housing is offered from May 15 – July 31 (or last business day in July). 

Available Room Types:  Duplex dorm rooms and efficiency studios.

Room Assignments:  Assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis.  Rooms are assigned to multiple occupants of the same gender.  NO private rooms available.  

Parking:  Parking arrangements must be made through Parking Operations.  Call (501- 526-7275) for cost and availability.

Code of Conduct:  A signed Code of Conduct agreement must be on file for all summer program students.

Check-In:  Check-in at the Residence Hall Admin. Bldg (4601 W. Markham) between 8am-4pm Mon-Fri.   CLOSED HOLIDAYS 

What to Bring:  Students will need the following items during their stay at the Residence Hall:

  1. Bed and bath linen (twin sheets, towels, pillows, blankets)
  2. Reading lamp
  3. Cooking/eating supplies
  4. Alarm clock
  5. Cleaning supplies
  6. Personal toiletries
  7. TV (optional)

NOTE:  There are no community refrigerators.  Dorm room residents are allowed one dorm-size refrigerator per room.  Studio apartments are equipped with a small refrigerator. 

Vacating Procedures:  Guests must check-out by 4pm.  Before vacating, please follow cleaning check list below:

  • Remove all trash and food items from room and refrigerator.  Trash should be disposed in trash chute, located on the west end of hallway.
  • Clean kitchen sink, stove/oven, refrigerator, and microwave.
  • Clean bathroom sink, tub/shower, and toilet.
  • Floors and furniture should be free of dust/dirt.

Upon departure, return room key, access card & remote control (if applicable) to front office.  PLEASE NOTE:  Rent is charged until all keys/access cards are returned to housing office.  Failure to return remote control will result in a $25 replacement charge.
