UAMS SUMMER HOUSING
OVERVIEW OF POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
The UAMS Residence Hall consists of two four-story residence halls with a total of 177 units. The facility is conveniently located on campus at 4601 West Markham Street. Campus housing is available to students, residents, faculty, staff, patient families, and other UAMS affiliates.
Qualifying Summer Programs: Summer housing is available, on a limited basis, to UAMS colleges and departments. Summer housing applications must be submitted through a designated college/department program coordinator.
Application Process: A separate housing application is required for each student, along with all applicable fees and deposits. If a department agrees to pay fees and/or rent, IDT account number must be included on summer housing application. Applications are processed when all required information and fees are received. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
Summer Program Dates: Summer applications are accepted each spring, between March 15 – May 1. Summer housing is offered from June 1 – July 27.
Available Room Types: Duplex dorm rooms and efficiency studios.
Room Assignments: Assignments are based on availability and made on a first-come, first-served basis.
Parking: Parking arrangements must be made through Parking Operations. Call (501-526-7275) for cost and availability.
Code of Conduct: A signed Code of Conduct agreement must be on file for all summer program students. (Available at check-in)
Check-In: Summer program participants should check-in at the UAMS Residence Hall Admin. Bldg (4601 W. Markham) between 8 am-4 pm Mon-Fri. CLOSED HOLIDAYS & WEEKENDS
What to Bring: Students will need the following items during their stay at the Residence Hall:
- Bed and bath linen (twin sheets, towels, pillows, blankets)
- Reading lamp
- Cooking/eating supplies
- Alarm clock
- Cleaning supplies
- Personal toiletries
- TV (optional)
NOTE: There are no community refrigerators. Dorm room residents are allowed one dorm-size refrigerator per room. Studio apartments are equipped with a small refrigerator.
Vacating Procedures: Guests must check-out by 10 am. Before vacating, please follow cleaning check list below:
- Remove all trash and food items from room and refrigerator. Trash should be disposed in trash chute, located on the west end of hallway.
- Clean kitchen counters, sink, stove/oven, refrigerator, and microwave.
- Clean bathroom sink, tub/shower, and toilet.
- Floors and furniture should be free of dust/dirt.
Upon departure, return room key, access card & remote control (if applicable) to front office. PLEASE NOTE: Rent is charged until all keys/access cards are returned to housing office.
